The macro recorder is a part of all Microsoft Office applications. Its purpose is to record your actions or keystrokes into programming instructions using a language called Visual Basic. If you want to automate complex tasks, and have a robust and reliable result, then just recording a macro won’t work. When you record a macro it will attempt to reproduce what you’re doing if it’s possible. Simply recording a few commands is no guarantee the results will be correct. The produced results may be a lot more complicated then what’s needed. You may not be able to reuse the results in other documents or workbooks. The macro recorder is essentially designed to capture simple keystrokes.
